Executive Director,
Clinical Operations
Hillsboro may be across the
state from Toni Tengblad's home in Green Bay, but she still has that
can-do Packerland spirit. Maybe that's because she grew up just one
block from Lambeau Field.
Toni's late mother-in-law,
Phyllis Tengblad was once the social worker at St. Joseph's Hospital and
her father-in-law, Warren, recently became a resident of the nursing
home. That gives Toni not only a professional interest in the quality of
the medical care at St. Joseph's but a personal interest as well.
Toni has a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Nursing from UW-Oshkosh and a Master of Science Degree
in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Physiology from UW-La Crosse.
In her ten years at St.
Joseph's she has served as staff nurse, director of cardiac
rehabilitation and as director of nursing. In her current position she
says every day is different. She may spend time working on a contract
for a visiting physician , counseling employees, or overseeing the
quality and delivery of patient care.
While she says the scope of
her job is "huge and challenging" she still misses the care-giving role
of a nurse.
"The leadership role is
different, you make decisions for the betterment of the organization.
The St. Joseph's staff have strong values about how we treat customers
and each other. I hope I set a good example in that," she says.
Toni finds relief from
stress in music. She is a vocalist and pianist and directs the recently
organized Home Front Singers.
She and her husband Chris
live near Valley and have two daughters, ages five and eleven.

management of St. Joseph's contact Toni at 489-8000.
