Number lovers take great
pride in seeing a column of figures balanced, and Cheryl Novy is no
exception.
From her office on the first
floor, she supervises a staff of ten, all of whom are dedicated to
ensuring that the financial nuts and bolts of St. Joseph's are in
working order.
She handles cash management,
including payroll, accounts receivable and payable, insurance filing,
Medicare claims and patient registration.
Cheryl joined the staff 17
years ago after attending WWTC. She is a native of Yuba and a graduate
of Hillsboro High School.
Her job offers a great deal
of variety to keep her interest and occasionally, her frustration. The
most annoying aspect of her job is processing Medicare claims because
"the rules change daily." Those rules fill a volume the size of a
Chicago phone book, and Cheryl says much of her time is spent keeping
abreast of the latest changes and additions to those rules.
When not balancing accounts,
Cheryl says she enjoys bowling and reading.
