Pharmacy
Our registered Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians work full-time at the
in-house pharmacy and are on 24-hour call if the need arises. They provide a
variety of pharmacy services including I.V. therapy, chemotherapy and total
parental nutrition. The Pharmacist is available to answer any questions patients
may have about their medications.
The St. Joseph's pharmacy operates
under a pharmaceutical care model.
Mission:
Pharmacy Services is dedicated to the
support of rational drug therapy that contributes to the achievement of the
highest possible level of health.
The pharmacist is responsible for
providing information regarding the appropriateness of drug utilization within
the hospital and nursing home; with emphasis on high volume or chronic
medications, high risk toxic medications or medications requiring
pharmacokinetic dose adjustments based on patient's metabolic capabilities.
We provide physician, staff, and
patient/family consultation on various areas of medicine including, but not
limited to: pain management, anti-infective, psychiatric, immunization,
long-term care, wound management, drug interaction, herbal remedies and other
general medication information.
